About me
My name is Lily Yen, and I am a junior in Biology Science major student. I am an international student from Taiwan, and I have been in the States for 6 years. I love watching TV series that are related to mystery cases. Castle is one of my favorite TV series. Although it does not involve a private detective, the main plot is based on solving murder cases. My goal for this year is to learn a new language.

In this online writing 39B class, we focus on the classical detective genre that is created by Conan Doyle. In these 10 weeks, we have learned not only the classical detective genre but also its adaptation in 21st century. Moreover, we learn how to analyze detective movies by types of shots, composition, lighting, etc. Because the class is an online course, the students are required to have self-discipline and motivation in order to do well.

A Scandal in Bohemia is one of the Sherlock Holmes series. The story describes a Bohemia King seeks help from Holmes and asks Holmes to recover his secret photo with the Woman, Irene Alder.
The Sign of Four is the second volume in Sherlock Holmes series. The main plot of the story based on a teasure haunt. This book establishes the fame of Conan Doyle.
